This investment will enable us to further our mission to scale our carbon removal projects and promote regenerative agriculture across the Global South.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"color: #004752; font-weight: bold;\">About the Global Innovation Fund<\/h1>\n<p>The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalinnovation.fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Global Innovation Fund (GIF)<\/a><\/span> is a unique social impact investment fund backed by capital from governments, private sector foundations, and philanthropists. GIF seeks out innovations that have a measurable impact on the lives of those living on less than $5 per day. The investment in Boomitra is the latest from their <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalinnovation.fund\/innovating-for-climate-resilience\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Innovating for Climate Resilience<\/a><\/span> sub-fund, launched in partnership with the Adaptation Research Alliance and the Global Resilience Partnership. This sub-fund is supported by seed funding from the UK&#8217;s Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office, with additional funding from Sida.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"color: #004752; font-weight: bold;\">Building climate resilience<\/h1>\n<p>At Boomitra, we are committed to transforming degraded agricultural land into thriving ecosystems. Currently, over half of the world\u2019s agricultural land is degraded, leading to reduced crop yields and increased vulnerability to climate change. Many smallholder farmers, particularly in the Global South, still rely on the kinds of conventional practices that have depleted soil health, like chemical fertilizers and pesticides.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"color: #004752; font-weight: bold;\">Expanding our global footprint<\/h1>\n<p>This year, we\u2019ve been expanding our footprint into new geographies. In <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/boomitra.com\/es\/boomitra-mongolian-government-mitsubishi-corporation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mongolia<\/a><\/span>, we are developing one of the world\u2019s largest soil carbon compliance projects with Mitsubishi Corporation and the Mongolian government to help herders restore and manage their lands. In Colombia, we\u2019ve partnered with <a href=\"https:\/\/boomitra.com\/es\/boomitra-alqueria-partnership-colombia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Alquer\u00ed<\/span>participante<\/a>, a leading dairy company and Colombia\u2019s largest certified B Corp company, on a grasslands carbon project aimed at improving the livelihoods of dairy farmers. Now we are extending our efforts into Botswana and regions across Central and Southern Mexico, where we\u2019re launching a variety of new carbon projects to further our impact.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"color: #004752; font-weight: bold;\">Deepening engagement with smallholder farmers<\/h1>\n<p>This investment from GIF will allow us to deepen our engagement with smallholder farmers across these areas, expanding our reach and impact in the Global South.
